Flimsy tripod DSLR image of Venus, Jupiter, & Mercury; Attended SAS Symposium; Don't get the scope out; its July 4; Happy holiday on this 250th birthday celebration

 Greetings from Palmia Observatory,

Looked outside on June 21 and took this DSLR image on a flimsy tripod of Venus, Jupiter & Mercury; Attended one day of the Society for Astronomical Sciences Symposium, in Ontario, CA, June 25-27

I wasn't sure if I could see Mercury in city lights viewing, but this lineup with Venus at top left, then Jupiter, and at bottom right is dim Mercury.  Ok, I couldn't see it with my naked eyes, but a neighbor's granddaughter with young eyes pointed out that yes it was visible just above the trees.

I almost didn't go to the SAS Symposium this year, but at the last moment elected to attend after all.   enjoyed this symposium for many years because it covered some of the topics that allowed amateurs to det involved with real science measurements.

Today is July 4, so yeah not going to the star party this time.  Even the Grok imagined observatory assistants have to be careful.

So clear skies, Happy 4th of July!

 Until next time,
